Construction of Oak framed buildings

All of our traditionally built oak framed structures can be supplied in a variety of forms. From the oak frame only, all the way up to the complete building, which will include the oak frame, as well as all of the rafters, boarding, roof covering, doors and windows if necessary.

At Acorn, we are happy to supply your building to you in a kit form for you to erect yourself as a DIY project or through a different contractor. We also offer a server to manage the whole project from start to finish. We will provide the complete package and arrange for a comprehensive service with everything from the foundations to completion.

The location of your oak framed building will be sited will be subject to planning permission, this is something we can help with, especially in conservation areas. Depending on the ground, a structural survey may be needed to determine the best methods for laying the foundations. If you choose our supply only service, then we will still be happy to advise you on this. If you have opted for our comprehensive building package, then we will carry out this as part of the service.

We will use machinery in preparing the foundations and to transportation the materials to the site. All of the actual building techniques we use are traditional carpentry methods, most of which are done by hand.
